Important questions to ask your Charlotte maternity photographer.
Expecting a baby is so exciting and a time to document with a maternity photoshoot.
Maternity photographers are artist and I always encourage and ask expecting parents who reach out to schedule a maternity session if they have seen my website or social media. I want to know if they have seen my style of images. Take the time to do some online research and see what maternity photographers work draws you. Does that photographer include maternity gowns or will that be an added expense? How many of those items can you borrow from the studio? Will the potential photographer pose you? Does she photograph all types of imagery or does she specialize in posing expecting mothers?
What questions should I ask my maternity photographer?
When should I schedule my photo session?
Anytime your ready is a good time. I suggest clients book 1-3 months in advance. Most mothers are 32-36 weeks. They still feel good enough to pose for me. My photoshoots are more like yoga class 🙂 We include outdoor sessions along with our studio sessions and there are only 7 sunsets in a week.
Are maternity gowns included in the maternity session? How many of those will we use? Where can I see the dresses? How do I know they will fit me?
Our maternity closet has more than a 100 options of maternity gowns, dresses, jewelry etc for pregnant moms to choose from. We use three gowns per session. You can see our maternity gowns here in the online client closet. Most of our gowns are one size fits all. They are stretchy and we can also pin gowns to have them look more snug.
Can I bring my own clothing?
Sure, we allow three outfits per session.
What if it rains on the day I am scheduled and I wanted to go outside?
If it rains on your scheduled date then we have a few options given my schedule and your due date allow. 1- We reschedule. 2- We shoot in the studio.
What type of locations do you use for outside?
The locations NicCole Photography uses are nature type locations. Walking paths, grassy fields etc…
What do I need to bring to the photoshoot?
To stay in line with the signature look Brandy NicCole has create for expecting moms we suggest nude, natural french manicured nails and toe nails. Arrive with hair and makeup done. Please bring matching panty and bra in case you decide to do a silhouette maternity image.
Can my husband and or family be part of the session?
Absolutely, and I will help you choose clothing for them.
“The result was more beautiful than I could have hoped, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous (one of my maternity shots even won an award. What an ego boost for an expectant mummy!!)” ~Jamilia
