It can be a super easy process and one you may wanna think about before you bundle up baby and head to their newborn photo shoot.

Choosing newborn props that match my home.
Creating newborn images that seamlessly blend into your home’s decor and walls is easily achieved by using similar colors during your baby’s photo session. Having your photographer use bucket stuffers, matching bonnets and wraps that match your homes color palette or baby’s nursery is a great way to have images blend well. Consider the style of decor in your home. You’ll want your images to flow through your home like the wall colors do from room to room.
Let’s use my home for example: White and black modern farm house with pretty vanilla walls….agreeable grey to be exact. Most of my furniture is pottery barn beige and I throw a bit of a vintage green color into pillows and throws. So if I were planning a newborn session and wanted it to blend with my home, I am going to have mostly bone colored items and maybe have a bit of that green color in a headband or wrap. You can’t go wrong with simple beige it will be sure to match everything in your home unless you love bold colors and in that case plan newborn props around that with your baby’s photographer.
What type of newborn poses do you like?
Also narrowing down the type of baby shots you like most helps your baby photographer create images that will be timeless. Are you drawn to images that include you and dad? Images that show the connection between you and your baby are referred to as lifestyle or documentary style images. Maybe you prefer a clean baby alone shot like the image below.
