Three maternity sessions in one gives my clients a variety of portraits.
Clients ask a lot of fun questions about the farm….
Are the horses yours? Yes. Are they baby horses? Nope, miniature horse, quarter horse, a mini mule and miniature donkey (their a strange bunch:) Whats my favorite thing about being on a gentleman’s farm? Hands down, being able to step outside the studio and photograph my expecting mothers & babies outside. Be able to go outside makes me feel like I am doing three maternity sessions in one. The studio bed, backdrops and outdoors.
Every mom that I photograph has the option of three different looks for her maternity sessions in one. I pose expecting moms around the studio bed and on paper backdrops. Based on the weather we usually finish our photo shoot outside. This is why we use three maternity gowns/dresses from the studio wardrobe.
Outdoor Shooting Locations
I never know what the light is going to look like outside and thats the fun of being in the woods. We jump on the golf cart and just chase the light, literally! It changes with the seasons and the best thing is there is always a gorgeous spot to be found outside!
We don’t have to move very far to have the outdoor areas look different. These shots were just a few feet from each other. I never get bored of looking for little pockets of sunlight that will make the perfect location for maternity images.
The studio bed has a boho meets Pottery barn feel to it. Children always ask…Do you sleep here? Thats a firm no. The mattress is not super comfy, consider yourself having been warned:)
I am sharing these parents newborn images over here.
