Here at NicCole Photo I like to make the process from start to finish super easy and transparent so my photography clients know exactly what to expect. What’s included in a photoshoot can differ based on the session you have chosen. The process is always the same.
What’s the photography session journey look like?
The full process of your portrait session takes about 35 days, start to finish. After you have secured a photoshoot by paying the $200 retainer fee we start plan your session.
We chat about what you may need to bring to the session. (The family above are musicians, hence the guitar.) This might be personal props, pets etc. We chat clothing for the family or maternity gowns. I have a great extra website that helps you pull together a cohesive family wardrobe with out being matchy matchy. No more everyone wear dark pants and white shirts 🙂 I will also share that with you.
How do I choose my images from the photoshoot
I will coach you on posing and give prompts for family shots. It’s super easy when someone is directing and I certainly do that so we get the images you have seen on my website and social media.
Please try not to make a huge thing of the photoshoot with hubs or children. I have found if we tell hubs how long it will be and stick to that time, he is happy. Tell the kids we are meeting a new friend to have fun 🙂 This way everyone arrives knowing what to expect and in good spirits. You can arrive early and dress children before the session. I know photoshoots can be stressful sometimes. Dont get wrapped up in how you want the children to behave etc…. let me handle that. I prefer that they be themselves and aren’t forced into posing. That rarely works with small children.
Three days after you session you will get a soft proof gallery. These images are not edited. They are away for you to view your images and choose what you would like to have. When do I get my images? Can I print a large portrait?
After you have made your choices I will fully edit those and get them back to you via download. This process takes 28 working days.
The images are high resolution and you will have a print release. You can use your images to print large or small images, canvases etc. I certainly can make albums, prints, canvases etc for you as well. I printed a very large piece of wall art for this family.

What’s the NicCole Photography App?
The NicCole Photography app is an app of your images for your smart phone or device. You will get the app download the same time you get your fully edited digital files. You can view the app by clicking the NicCole Photography app above.
Including personal items, activities that you do as a family, bringing along a pet can help make a photoshoot unique to your family.
