Three Locations in one Maternity Photoshoot
Maternity clients never have to choose between a studio photoshoot or on-location photoshoot with NicCole Photography. Choosing NicCole Photography is like getting three locations in one photo session. If the idea of having a photography session in the studio, in a natural light area and outside sounds amazing keep reading.
1-Natural Light Area in the Studio
We start in the studio around the natural light area. This gives an expecting mom time to preview her maternity gown choices and also get some posing tips for a pregnant mother’s body. (Notice in the above images the first image is from the natural light area.)
We schedule outdoor maternity sessions based on lighting. The late evening is always secured for our maternity sessions.
2-On-Location | Outdoor
The studio is on 130+ acres of private forest area and the golf cart scoots us around to different outdoor locations. Using the cart allows us to find the best lighting for that evening to create dreamy photos.
What type locations can you expect to use at the NicCole studio?
We have several areas to photograph expecting mothers outside. The pond, a row boat, the apple orchard, a tree swing, tall grassy fields, pastures with horses, country roads with tall pines and the pool are a few shooting locations. If your a nature loving momma this place is ideal.
Well what about the mom who wants a more uptown feeling. We certainly can venture out to the hallmark like downtown area here near the studio. Traffic lights, vintage store fronts, side walks between the brick buildings and store front windows are what you can expect from that area. ( Notice the middle images are outdoors.)
3- The Studio Backdrops
The studio backdrops are typically our last set. Moms are super comfortable with how I want them to pose because we have modeled the poses repeatedly. She feels comfortable in front of the camera and is confident that I am capturing amazing maternity shots of her. We have several paper backdrops, digital backdrops (thanks to AI) and cloth photography backgrounds. (The last image is backdrops)
What if an expecting mom prefers to use only 2 locations for her photo session?
I know not all moms are a fan of outdoor images. Having been a hairstylist for 23+ years I know the Carolina heat and humidity wrecks havoc on hair, there are bugs, and cold weather are a few reasons to keep an expecting mother inside the studio.
Some moms prefer a particular shooting area over another. We just modify our session to capture more of what you want for your maternity portraits. If thats all natural light area…let’s do it. Maybe you love the editorial feel of the backdrops and only want to have those lights on your baby bump…we can do it! If your like me a love to run barefoot outside and want the wind in your hair for the entire session….yes, let’s do that! (Notice the mom above chose to stay inside.)
