a boho maternity session was perfect for this mom.
Amanda is stunning and we immediately connected when she told me she was a stylist that specialized in coloring hair…..BOOM! MY TRIBE! If you didn’t know I was a platform artist for 21+ years before I started photographing pregnancy. It was like chatting with a stylist in the salon for her entire boho maternity session.
We photographed her at the NicCole Studio
The studio is just outside of Charlotte in the Lake Wylie area and is so worth the 45 min drive. We have 100+ acres of nature to use for photos. Not to mention the up and coming apple orchard, the tall grasses near the outdoor bath, large plain areas and an adorable little boat and pond. Most clients like the idea of shooting inside and outside.
It’s nice to give clients a full experience of shooting lifestyle portraits in the studio, move outside for outdoor maternity photos and then finish up our session with the studio lights and backdrops.
Maternity photo sessions are 1.5hrs and I DO pose my mothers.
Yep you heard it I do pose my expecting mothers. I like expecting mothers to look like they just beautifully fell into place like the shot above. Knowledge of posing expecting mothers is key to creating gorgeous shots. In the above shot I have showed her how to sit, where to put her hands, how her legs should fall and placement of her face and eyes, seriously! Its the difference in a good shot and WOW!
Outside locations at the NicCole studio are unlimited.
The outside locations here at the studio are constantly changing and we are always creating something new. The apple orchard is coming along and I am excited to see what this spring holds. These gorgeous oak trees are along the drive into the studio and one of my fav spots to shot. The lighting is beyond gorgeous in the evening. We usually wrap around to the horses after I gather these images. Argo (My sweet very big boy is featured in Farm + Family.) is usually waiting for me there late in the evenings for his snack:) He occasionally jumps into our photographs
We finish up our boho maternity session back inside the studio with the lighting. These images always feel like my magazine shots.
All the gowns above are maternity gowns from our studio wardrobe and are available to our clients.
